What Is The Commercial EV Charging Grant?
The workplace charging scheme that has been put in place to make the EV charging solutions more affordable is a government-run scheme offered by the Office For Zero-Emission Vehicles (OZEV).
The OZEV grant offers businesses a £350 voucher off the price and installation of the stations on their commercial premises. However, you can only claim the grant on new charge points that will be installed after the date the voucher is admitted and the installation has to be completed by an OZEV-approved installer.

How You Can Qualify For The OZEV Grant
While the scheme is available to any business, charity or public sector organisation, some conditions apply. These are:
- You Must have sufficient off-street parking. This parking must be either on-site or within a reasonable distance of the company’s grounds.
- The charging station must be installed by an OZEV approved installer such as Smartplc.
- You must be a registered business, charity or public sector organisation that is located in either England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
- You must either have an electric vehicle or express a need for one in the future.
- You must own the property or have permission from the landlord for the charge point installation.

How do I claim an EV charging grant?
Simply fill out our information form or contact us on 0345 3822 833 and we will apply for the grant on your behalf so that you do not have to. The process is very easy when using an OZEV-approved company such as Smartplc.
Is the OZEV grant still available?
As of the 31st March 2022 the OZEV grant is only available to registered businesses, charities and public sector organisations. It is no longer available for residential properties.
Can I install my own EV charging point?
No, if you want to be eligible for the OZEV grant then you cannot install your own charging point, even if you have experience. To be eligible for the grant, the charging points must be installed by an OZEV approved company.
